Interview with Turk of Accuracy

The following is an interview with me during which time I had been actively participating in the demo scene under my persona, TURK. The interview was conducted by Sergeant Pepper of Excess for Nitro, a disk magazine produced mostly by Excess members. The interview was published in the 12th issue of Nitro that was released in September 1993.

Tell us about yourself!

Hello, my real name is Mert Hekimci and I’m 17 years old. I live in Istanbul. I am 1.80 tall and 70 kilos weigh. Right now, I’m in my classroom at school and bored to death. Baah, that’s all.

How and when did you get in the scene?

I started laming around a couple of years ago. I was writing for an official computer mag in Turkiye which was very popular and most of the sceners came to the place. Also Mr.DJ and Axl of Accuracy were in that mag. DJ started the long ago, and later on, Axl joined in as a coder, but turned out to become a musician. Then I started coding intros and asked if I could join the guys in Clique. Remix and Smile were friends of mine but they said they needed demo-coders. So I improved a bit and joined ACY and now I am an OK coder. That’s the boring story till I started swapping.

What’s your job in your group?

As I’ve said, I’m a coder, but I sometimes paint fonts, and some dum logos.

No, never, coz the Turkish post sux.

No, never (hopefully!)

What’s your favourites?

Food: McDonald food, chicken and French fries
Drink: Coke, lemonade, orange juice
Movie: Highlander, Robocop, Star Wars
Demo: Dutch Breeze
Game: Creatures, D. of the Crown, Myth, Times of Lore, Kick Off 2

Do you think there are too many mags in the scene?

No, the mags are great, I like all (most)

What do you think about rebuilding old legendary groups?

That sux. I find it discreative and nonsense!

What think your parents about your hobby computer?

They used to get angry before, but now they are used to it.

What is a lamer?

Someone who boasts even if they are piece of shit!
